Founded in 1996 and purchased by the Ruud family in 2015, based in Racine, WI, Deltahawk’s mission is to revolutionize aviation technology with innovative, efficient, and reliable engine solutions that meet today’s environmental and operational demands.

Our Story

The DeltaHawk engine was created with the vision for a safer, cleaner, and more efficient piston engine, bringing innovation to clean aviation without compromise to performance and reliability.

• Prior to DeltaHawk, aviation piston engine design had stagnated over the
  past six decades, while the aviation space otherwise experienced tremendous
  advances in avionics, airframe design, and the use of composite materials.
• DeltaHawk Engines, Inc. developed the first new piston engine architecture
  in 60+ years that is FAA Type Certified. Powered by diesel, jet fuel/sustainable
  aviation fuel (SAF) this clean sheet engine is set to further disrupt propulsion
  in aviation with its’ hybrid-electric power, and Hydrogen power.
• We are led by pioneering business leaders with proven ability to disrupt
  markets using innovative technology.
• Over $100 million has been invested to date in facilities, personnel, in-house
  design(R&D), certification, and testing.
